Job Openings

We offer full and part-time positions from May to October. Relevant experience is a plus, but we will train candidates for all positions.

Dishwasher (14 years and up)

  • Get your start at The Goldenrod as a dishwasher!
  • You will be responsible for clearing dishes out of the dining room and fountain, loading and unloading the dishwasher, and making sure all parts of the restaurant are well-stocked with clean dishes, glasses, and utensils.
  • Oversized items (i.e., large pots and cutting boards) will need to be washed by hand.
  • You will also be responsible for emptying trash cans and taking trash out to our dumpsters and may be asked to complete various food preparation tasks as needed.

Housekeeper (16 and up)

  • Regular cleaning of break room, employee bathrooms, locker rooms, candy rooms
  • Daily laundry 

Host (16 years and up)

  • Seat our customers in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Work as a team with other servers, support staff, and management.
  • Manage waiting list.
  • Rotate customers into servers’ sections.
  • Help clear and set tables.
  • Work diligently to achieve outstanding service quality and maintain a cheerful and friendly rapport with customers.

Fountain Server (16 years and up)

  • Serve desserts, meals, and drinks to our customers in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Must have a working knowledge of our menu, as well as proper serving etiquette.
  • Must be able to work as a team member with other servers, support staff, and management.

Candy Production (18 years and up)

  • Responsible for preparing, monitoring, cooking and proper handling of our famous Goldenrod Kisses, fudge, barks and chocolates.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail, keep a meticulous work area, and work in full view of the public.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Use of machinery required.

Cashier (18 years and up)

  • Must be able to work as a team member with other cashiers, support staff, and management.
  • Operate all aspects of the register, including cash, credit card, and gift card transactions.
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer, ensuring that all transactions are accounted for by the end of the shift.
  • Answer any customer inquiries.
  • Work diligently to achieve outstanding service quality.
  • Maintain a cheerful and friendly rapport with customers.

Line/Prep Cook (18 years and up)

  • Prepare and assemble dishes according to recipes and specifications.
  • Work cooperatively and efficiently in a team environment; able to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions and organization in the kitchen.

Server (18 years and up)

  • Show customers to their seats and present our menu options.
  • Advise on the our daily food specials and ice cream specials for each customer and answer questions.
  • Take orders and deliver them to the table deftly and accurately.
  • Attend to the tables and guarantee compliance to cleanliness standards.
  • Check the quality of the final servings and resolve any issues.
  • Deliver checks and direct customers to pay at cashier.
  • Work with other staff as a team.
  • Work diligently to achieve outstanding service quality and maintain a cheerful and friendly rapport with customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Stock and fill supplies.
  • Must be able to use a computer ordering system.
